SAUERKRAUT AND FERMENTED WINTER VEGETABLES WORKSHOP
Join us for this Sauerkraut and Fermented winter veggies workshop. Discover the magic of fermentation and why eating these delicious nutritious foods is so important to be in good mental and physical health. Learn how to make your own kraut and a few other fermented goodies that will help you keep your immune system topped up this winter.
We will also talk about wild fermentation vs culturing and dry salt fermentation vs fermenting with brine. And of course, we’ll be getting our hands dirty and making sauerkraut and fermented vegetables together. Let’s take advantage of the beautiful produce the cold season has to offer!
What you will learn in the class:
Learn about the wonders of fermentation, why microbes are so awesome and how fermentation can help us improve our gut and overall health. You will learn to make your own Sauerkraut with an array of ingredients provided. We will be fermenting a couple of different winter vegetables using 2 different brine percentages, to make sure you keep your immune system happy and strong this season!
Materials for this class will be supplied. All you need to bring is a 1L clip top jar for your kraut and a grater.
Homemade lacto-fermented snacks and drinks will also be served at the end of the class. You’ll be able to take home your kraut, fermented veggies and another one of my crafty handouts. Plus a whole lot of useful tips and information that will help you kickstart your own fermentation journey!
