Join us for this Sauerkraut and Fermented Summer Vegetables workshop. Learn about the wonders of fermentation, why microbes are so awesome and how fermentation can help us improve our gut and overall health. We will talk about wild fermentation vs culturing and dry salt fermentation vs fermenting with brine. You will learn to make your own sauerkraut with an array of ingredients provided and fermenting a couple of different summer vegetables using different brine percentages. Let’s take advantage of the beautiful colourful produce summer has to offer! 

Materials for this class will be supplied. All you need to bring is a 1L clip top jar for your kraut, a grater and any other empty jar you have lying around at home. 

Homemade lacto-fermented snacks and drinks will also be served at the end of the class. You’ll be able to take home your kraut, fermented veggies and another one of my crafty handouts. Plus a whole lot of useful tips and information that will help you kickstart your own fermentation journey!
