Skullcap Tea

THE TRADITION 

American Skullcap has been used as a nervine tonic, sedative and anti-convulsant to calm the nervous system. May be used to ease anxiety, settle a restless mind, improving sleep quality that is interrupted by mental chatter. 

THE SCIENCE

Scutellaria lateriflora contains flavonoids, baicalin and aglycone baicalein, as well as amino acids GABA and glutamine. These compounds may play a role in anxiolytic activity.

In one small study Scutellaria lateriflora is shown to enhance mood without a reduction in energy or cognition. 

Directions Infuse 1 teaspoon of your herbal tea in freshly boiled water for 5 minutes or longer. Drink 1 to 3 cups daily.
