At the Wellington Apothecary we are an eclectic bunch of herbalists, naturopaths, nutritionists, anthropologists, massage therapists, holistic facialists, artists, yoginis, gardeners, researchers and manufacturers. All of which enriches our approach to understanding wellbeing, people and nature. The ancient art of herbal medicine and healing philosophy inform the basis of how we approach wellbeing. We are interested in exploring holistic and embodied ways of healing ourselves as individuals, our people as a collective and our environment as our home.

-OUR SPACE
Established in 2014 by three friends, Laura, Chantal and Jemma. The Wellington Apothecary is a botanical factory, herbal dispensary, natural therapy clinic, and alchemists delight. We offer a tranquil and sensory experience where you are welcome to sample each product, see them being made and gather over a hot cup of herbal tea. You can talk to qualified apothecarians, herbalists and naturopaths in store and have remedies curated and custom made for you while you wait.

OUR REMEDIES
Our teas, tonics and skincare have been created by Herbalists to provide you with simple rituals for daily self care. Our unique recipes are based on contemporary research and traditional wisdom. Each product is thoroughly tested on humans (not animals). All of our products are made fresh, by hand in small batches at our Cuba Street store with the finest natural and organic ingredients. Our approach is to keep everything simple and pure. We hope that these qualities come through to those of you that enjoy our creations... May we all continue to be inspired by the wonders of the natural world.

OUR PROMISE

We are committed to sustainable practises - Our skincare is packaged in reusable and recyclable glass vessels and most of our skincare products come with the option of recyclable aluminium lids. Our herbal tea packaging is compostable once the tin tie is removed. Our clay mask sachet packaging is also compostable and our labels are made from paper or degradable Rocktak. We use compostable materials in-store where possible and have an in-store paper, plastic and glass recycling system and a composting system. We support and care deeply for the wellbeing of the Wellington Apothecary team and are committed to paying living wages. We support various local charitable and social organisations through out the year. We are always open to ways we can do better and welcome your thoughts and ideas.

BIOPHILIA REWILDING PROJECT
2024 is the year we launch the Biophilia Rewilding Project. As we near our 10th anniversary, we are ready to bring this dream to life. Our goal is to procure land in the Wellington region and use this space to regenerate native bush and create a sanctuary for local wildlife. This space will double as a workshop, retreat and education space, facilitating more of the workshops and events you love at the Wellington Apothecary. Watch this space!
