Cedarwood atlas has a interesting woody, camphoraceeaous-cresylic, resinous scent with sweet, warm, whiskey like undertones that many find deeply calming and restorative. A powerful and strong tree with much historical use, as with all trees of the pine family. Cedarwood is an all-round strengthening tonic, deeply grounding the body and fortifying the mind. It imbues a deep sense of confidence and resilience when we are feeling insecure and fragile. When used is skincare and haircare formulations, cedarwood is antiseptic, astringent and antiseborrheic making it an excellent essential oil for oily skin, acne, dandruff, eczema and psoriasis. In natural perfumery and aromatherapy blends we like to combine cedar with sweet citrus top notes such as orange. Originally sourced from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, the over harvesting of cedar wood has become an issue in recent years so it is important to source sustainable extracts. Our Cedarwood is sourced from sustainable plantations in France.

"Atlas Cedarwood oil can give us immovable strength in times of crisis, steadying the conscious mind , it will help us to resist the sudden events and powerful emotions that threaten to undermine our confidence and morale" Salvatore Battaglia

ESSENTIAL OIL SAFETY

Do not apply essential oils to your skin undiluted. Some essential oils, when diluted are suitable for use in skincare formulations. Please contact us for more information if you are using essential oils on your skin for safe dilution ratios. Generally 1-2% of essential oil diluted in a carrier oil such as jojoba oil or sweet almond oil is considered safe. Some essential oils can cause irritation even in dilution and are not suitable in skincare.

We do not recommend ingesting essential oils. Essential oils are very potent plant extractions and can cause irritation and damage to your mucous membranes as well as other health risks such as poisoning. Ask our Herbalists about safe plant extracts for internal use. Store essential oils away from children at all times. Seek advice before using essential oils for children. If you have a skin condition, are pregnant, have epilepsy or asthma, or are in any doubt about any condition you may have please contact us or a suitable health practitioner for further guidance.
