THE TRADITION
Kawakawa is a traditional Rongoā Māori medicinal plant, used as a ceremonial taonga tapu (sacred treasure). For physical ailments it is used to purify the blood and aid the recovery of inflammatory skin conditions, like boils, eczema and acne. Kawakawa is also used as a soothing digestive tonic and warming circulatory tonic.
THE SCIENCE
Kawakawa shows a positive effect on glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity, taken after meals. Reducing the risk of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
Directions Take 2ml in water 2 times daily with meals.
Take 3-4 hours away from any other medications to avoid potential herb-drug interactions.
Ingredients Extract of Kawakawa (Piper excelsum) in a water/ethanol base.
Store below 30 degrees celcius. Keep out of reach of children.
